So intro time for the new folks. I’m a storyboard and occasional concept artist for film and tv. I’ve worked on Star Trek Discovery, Pacific Rim, IT, The Thing, loads more. I used to draw comics for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and 2000ad/Dredd. I designed Pennywise’s smile makeup by accident one day.
There’s so many anti AI posts on threads I just saw someone wondering if they were anti AI bots to keep engagement and you know? Wouldn’t be surprised with that place

I wish I’d seen Tom Waits live back when I almost had the chance. We was playing Toronto when I was flying back to Scotland after a visit before I moved here. Would have had to get a different flight. I got my folks into Tom Waits. They have seen him twice and he’s never been near here since then

If there’s one thing “Introduce yourself with five concerts you’ve seen” has shown me is I don’t remember most of the concerts I’ve been to until I see someone else mention them and then go- oh yeah I’ve seen them

As an actual writer I have absolutely no time for the romanticization of what is an underpaid and enormously uncool profession, but I will say this: if you use generative AI, you are not a writer. Being a writer is not about having a book or a byline in your name. It's about doing the writing.
