Part of the excuse offered for law enforcement officers is that they have to make split second decisions in a confusing situation. Well, the same goes for people trying to comply with their instructions - but without the training. Standards on use of deadly force must take that into account.

This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.

They don't care about abortion, or taxpayer funding for it (which doesn't exist), they only care about not extending the ACA subsidies.
Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., says there won’t be any ACA funding extension unless Democrats agree to beef up Hyde/abortion language tied to the money. “We will not fund abortion with taxpayer money,” he says. “And if that becomes the issue for them, then we'll go to the mat on it.”

Oh, do I have an anecdote for that. I served with the 82nd Airborne and XVIII Airborne Corps. We were nothing special, a comms unit, but since we put in early gen field sat phones we got to go and do thing in places in support of some seriously tough dudes. So deployments to the Balkans, Sinai,

Funny how cost never gets challenged when building any infrastructure that is car related, but the minute that design focus is shifted towards the human scale, suddenly everyone's a budget hawk.
