A collection of pre-war tourist maps of Japan. “We found the maps rummaging in Tokyo’s Jinbocho area before photographing & collating them into this 136 page paperback.” [kottke.org]
Vintage Tourist Maps of Japan
The gang at Present & Correct found a cache of pre-war tourist maps of Japan while rummaging around in Tokyo’s Jinbōchō used book district. They photographed them for a new self-published book called Paper Trails.

They were stored in a plastic bag, before ending up in a junk shop where Oliver Croy found them in the early 2010s.

The world’s first pocket music player was this tiny Mikiphone from the 1920s. A gramophone like machine.

Invented by Hungarian siblings Miklós and Étienne Vadász though produced in Switzerland.

It could fit in a pocket, though only played 10” records.
