I'm a gay anarchist and I'm too old for this shit.

My interests, in no particular order, for people considering a follow:

- TTRPGs
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Knitting
- Folk metal
- Bluegrass
- Herbalism
- HEMA (Italian rapier, specifically)
- Castlevania (TV show)
- Arcane
- The Witcher
- Bicycle infrastructure
- Gothic literature
- etc.
It's notable that in the X-Files episode "Excelsis Dei," Scully and Mulder's roles are reversed: Scully immediately believes the victim's claims of sexual assault and harassment, while Mulder is more skeptical and points out that the lack of hard evidence will make it hard to resolve the case.

Taylor Swift (8 feet tall, limbs the length of anacondas) remains silent on the White House using her music. Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter (3 feet tall, fists too tiny to hold ladybugs) is charging headfirst at ICE, ready to pummel any rent-a-Nazi that dares to speak her name.

It is taking all my willpower not to spam Luigi memes in the chat for my employer's 2026 open enrollment meeting.

Megafauna really give me a visceral “oh this is where gods come from” feeling. Even like… just looking at the fossils displays at the Field Museum.

“AI is clearly sticking around so you have to get used to it” wrong. I don’t have to get used to shit. I am a practiced hater and I can keep this going for decades if I am required to

There is SO MUCH going on in this episode of X-Files ("Red Museum"). Teen abductions! A peeping Tom! A vegan cult! Critique of factory farms! A plane crash involving two new characters halfway through the episode! Every new scene introduces something entirely new until I'm like SURE WHY NOT.

"You're welcome to join us Friday night, Mulder. We're all hopping on the internet to nitpick the scientific inaccuracies of Earth 2." - Possibly the funniest line of dialogue in the entire X-Files series.

I love being in my late 30s so much. I love not giving a shit about being famous or successful anymore. I love prioritizing being comfortable, and being around people who love me.

Could do without the aching joints and looming perimenopause, but everything else? Golden.

Huh, in "The Rise of Gawain, Nephew of Arthur," Gawain wins a duel against the warrior Gormundus because Gormundus's bronze helmet softened in the Levantine sun, allowing Gawain to cleave right through it. I wonder if that was a thing that actually happened (i.e. armor softening in hot weather).

Seeing so many posts and stuff from my friends about how much of a nightmare it is to drive right now, meanwhile I'm choo-chooing through a winter wonderland. Even got myself a beer.

When one of the country's largest cities has to restrict people from visiting a thriving market, it’s proof that we have drastically under-allocated space for human life and over-allocated it for cars.
City officials surprised vendors at Chicago’s most popular holiday market by imposing new crowd restrictions just hours before it opened last Friday.

I watched Zardoz for the first time on Thanksgiving and I LOVE IT?? It has a creative verve to it, real strong theater kid energy that I find utterly charming. It has a LOT of feelings about the decline of the British Empire; those feelings are largely incoherent but boy are they strong.

To heal our divided nation I propose splitting Game of the Year awards into two categories:

- Game of the Year That’s 3D and You Use a Sword and/or Gun to Explode a Guy
- Game of the Year That’s Some Gay Bullshit Indie Meditation on Grief or Whatever

This is the correct take. Stewing in white supremacist propaganda is bad for your thinking. And if think you are so savvy that it won’t impact you, you are the exact kind of mark they are slowly converting (I’m looking at you, centrist pundits).
It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

Friendly reminder that striking workers are asking you not to patronize ANY Starbucks store.

If you're traveling this week, your airport definitely has other options. Zero reason to even think about crossing a picket line!

Of all the possible characterizations of Merlin that historical authors could go for, I was not expecting "sex predator whose harassment of a teenage girl led to his own downfall." (Via de Boron.)
