For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

Every day we see where the politics of Donald Trump and the far right leads.

It's a politics of hate, fear, corruption and destruction.

It's a politics everyone in Scotland must stand unequivocally against, abroad and at home.

It's incredibly irregular for the secretary to come out making pronouncements before victim had even been identified. We didn't even have her name & she was already calling her a domestic terrorist"

Exactly one Allied combat fatality happened in Greenland during World War II, and he was a Danish soldier on patrol killed in a firefight with a German weather station crew.
Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. We've spilled more blood protecting Greenland than the Danes... we are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere"

This Government has no moral authority left to protect. But still, this is an agonising read from the great @georgemonbiot.bsky.social.
Let’s be clear: if the Palestine Action hunger strikers die, the government will bear moral responsibility | George Monbiot
The three remaining hunger strikers have been convicted of nothing. Yet with astonishing cruelty, ministers refuse to listen to their reasonable demands, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

you know why 90's music was so awesome? Because there was so much of it that was unique and all of it was done well. Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, Country, Alternative, Punk, Ska, Swing/Big Band....like hits everywhere in every genre and they were all different...the variety we had in the 90's was unmatched

God, this thread by Jason is depressing.

Can’t say he’s wrong tho!
At some point, we’re going to have to admit they won and move the battle someplace else.

The truth doesn’t matter to anyone who knowingly believes lies, spreads lies, and bludgeons others with lies because those lies coddle their weakness.

The lies are the point now. That’s new.

One of the nice things about Bluesky is not that it is bot-free (it is not), but that the moderation tools and lack of algorithm in the main feed make it bot-resistant.
Nobody could have predicted this.

it's funny when watching US movies or tv shows i used to be like "man, they sure do use food poisoning as a plot device *a lot* in america..."

then i learned their food poisoning statistics and it blew my mind. that's just how they live!

people DIE of food poisoning regularly in the US.

it's MAD.

A very long and important THREAD -

The real reason the US is invading Venezuela goes back to a deal Henry Kissinger made with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

And I'm going to explain why this is actually about the SURVIVAL of the US dollar itself.

Not drugs. Not terrorism. Not "democracy." 1/

I love these diffraction colours so much!

You get similar things in the clouds sometimes, usually in thin high clouds. They're known as iridescent clouds, but it's a different mechanism from oil etc.

Trump's attack on Venezuela will create global instability.

Will prolong the Ukraine war. How could the US condemn and sanction Russia?

Encourage Putin to kidnap Zelensky.

Encourage China to takeover Taiwan.

What is the point of the UN if rogue powers can do whatever they want?

This illegal invasion of another country while its citizens sleep is a cynical act of American imperialism.

The fact that Venezuela has some of the world’s largest oil reserves makes this feel very familiar.

Greens stand against this contempt of international law.

Whatever you might think of Maduro, the seizure and kidnapping of a head of state takes us to a very dark place. Vast, arbitrary, extra-legal power, which could be exercised almost anywhere, regardless of the character of the target government.
