Sonic 2 (Mega Drive) still nails speed, style, and pure platforming fun. Tails, loops, Chemical Plant Zone, and the Death Egg make it a 90s classic worth revisiting.

In honour of the 24th Anniversary of the GameCube NA release. What's your favourite GameCube games?

For me it was Eternal Darkness. Something so unique and different that I had not seen before.

Mega Man X was released in late 1993 for the Super Famiocom, later being released worldwide in 1994, and marked the first of many spinoff/sequel series for the franchise.

Despite what many people called it at the time, this is called Mega Man "X" as in the letter, not the Roman numeral 10.

I wasn’t a space sim fan, but Freelancer’s multiplayer sandbox hooked me. Trade, fight, explore the Sirius Sector with friends. The freedom to make your own story made it unforgettable.

I almost missed out on this! Happy 25th anniversary today, November 13th, to Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast)! Loved the GameCube port and was thankful to be able to play it since I never had a Dreamcast (a gaming regret to this day)!

A couple of more pick-ups this week. Think I got all Bruce Willis games on the PS1 as well now. Interestingly enough it looks like it was developed by Kalisto! The people who made Nightmare Creatures :o

I sometimes forget how much time I spent playing Medal of Honour...
Medal of Honor for the original PlayStation was released 26 years ago today.

While many other console video game players attribute interest in first-person shooters to GoldenEye 007 for the N64– Medal of Honor was my gateway to the genre. The presentation is what pulled me in.

Lucky number 7 on my #NESTop25 is #Metroid. This game raised a high bar for #NES and all #videogames action plaformers. Ton of content, challenge, and even graphics considering this is from the 1980’s. The story was just the beginning of a multi decade fascination with Metroids and Samus! #Nintendo

Playstation 2 being over 25 years old made me realise something

When Playstation 2 came out there really was no game console out there that was 25 years old

Meaning Playstation 2 release is closer to the birth of commersial gaming era than to this day

So, to start. 1991's entry into my gaming list of My Life In Games is...

The Simpsons Arcade game.

This year didn't have a lot of options I've played, and fewer still I liked. This one just hits different, you know? Four players, each a different yellow family member, rescuing Maggie. Is fun.
