I will be blind for life. I have fractures in my skull that they can't fix. I can't sneeze or cough bc it's dangerous to. They pulled a piece of plastic the size of a nickel out of my eye. I had shards of metal, glass, and plastic behind my eye and in my skull. They said it was a miracle I survived.

Trump talks about it like some kind of general suspend all other laws provision, and people too often assume that is in fact what it does. But it doesn't. The day after the Insurrection Act is invoked, it is still legal for you (or the state of MN) to do anything that was legal the day before.

The Insurrection Act is not "martial law." It doesn't displace civilian law, it doesn't suspend habeas corpus, it doesn't alter or suspend state and local government, and it doesn't make anything newly illegal. It allows using the military to enforce existing law, it doesn't change what the law is.

It’s hard to know if people outside MN understand how much of life is grinding to a halt here because of Trump’s occupation. Schools have shut down, businesses are scaling back hours or closing because their employees aren’t safe. The whole city is weighted down.
