We are still living through the aftermath of his shadow presidency. Cheney’s success in that role was the blueprint for the imperial presidency of Trump. His daughter’s political career and the legitimacy of his party have been swallowed by a monster he helped create.

So upset about @teenvogue.com being absorbed into Vogue.
Teen Vogue’s political reporting has often been sharper than other mainstream outlets.
Now there will be no political staffers left.

Goodness. Closing beautifully with Vito Marcantonio: “If it be radicalism to believe that our natural resources should be used for the benefit of all, and not for the purpose of enriching just a few, then I plead guilty to the charge.”
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio
There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.
Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

it's time for journos to start asking Johnson meta questions
"Speaker, on 5 occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about news events w/big implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker to be so woefully uninformed?"

This is disgusting. Teen Vogue was an excellent source of news and information - and, yes, I read Teen Vogue (LOL) - written in an accessible but not dumbed-down style. This is a catastrophic decision obviously meant to appease the current administration. We see you, Conde Nast!
No more Black or trans staffers. No politics of any kind. The cowardice of mainstream media isn't just insulting, it's *boring.* Now TV is just like any other beauty rag. Why not just kill it quickly? Why the slow-motion pretense?
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.
now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

Let’s be clear, most EBT users are white. The reason he’s specifically lying about “weaves” and we’ve seen so many AI fakes of Black women ranting about food stamps is they need to make BW the face EBT because they know many Americans don’t care if Black people suffer, and some actually wish for it.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.
SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.

And there's also the insidious ploy of shaming White ppl into silence for failing like those lazy Blacks who abuse the welfare programs. That's how you destroy class solidarity -- make White ppl ashamed to advocate for their own interests bc they think they're the only White ppl using SNAP.

I think we should assume that this is for the midterms, which are shaping up to be a blowout for the Democrats no matter how hard the Republicans try to screw with the election
Reporting in the Guardian corroborated in the Post- "The Pentagon has ordered thousands of specialized National Guard personnel to complete civil unrest mission training over the next several months..." indicating Trump’s effort to send military forces into urban centers could become the norm.

The Defense Department’s newly established “quick reaction force” within the National Guard is being readied for civil unrest missions in U.S. cities.

Honestly, I don't care what people seeking assistance at food banks do for a living, whether they work or not, what they drive, etc.
People are hungry. Give them food to eat. Plain and simple.

Leave them alone!!!!
Uncontacted Indigenous tribes are “at the edge of survival,” as contact by missionaries, miners, criminal gangs and social media influencers spreads diseases and wipes out forests, according to a landmark new report.
Why the world's most isolated people are under growing threat
At least 196 of these uncontacted Indigenous groups remain, half of whom could be wiped out in under 10 years, according to a new report by Survival International.
