I understand the urge to argue this, but it's just not true. Transphobic fixation to the point of incoherence is elite culture, sure. But the amount of trans people being murdered aren't all being murdered by rich assholes, they're being murdered by poor family members and lovers.
Transphobia is a fixation of elite culture. The same elite culture that is obsessed with defending and rehabilitating the social standing of wealthy child abusers, who fly to child rape islands to rape children together. That is the core culturar pillar of the elite— transphobia is also child abuse.

At the time we got called crazy conspiracy theorists for making the accusation and then like two years later Lecuona was doing events in the Chamber of Deputies where she spoke alongside PAN deputies who openly said "feminists and conservatives need to put abortion aside to fight the trans menace"
Prior to FEMMVA receiving money from the Heritage Foundation in 2018 or so, they frequently talked about how surrogate pregnancies supposedly undermined the right to abortion. But after they received that money? not a peep about abortion, even tho it was a pivotal fight in Mexico at the time.

The alliance between radfems & right-wingers isn't new though, the same radfems have been working with conservatives for decades now. Radfems being against surrogacy isn't new either, Janice Raymond was writing about it in the 80s! Really wish this info was more well known.
GAATW warns that some groups are now using anti-trafficking rhetoric to push bans on surrogacy and spread transphobic agendas.

This alliance has been around for a quarter century, at least. Self- identified "radical feminists" ARE often conservative. They've come together with religious groups to support the Iraq war, Palermo Protocols, TVPA...

Trans rights, sex worker’s rights and surrogacy rights are intertwined with overall women’s liberation and reproductive rights.

I should have phrased it more like "Rental Wombs" but whatever, you get the point.

FEMMVA is dead, afaik, but it’s director and founder, Laura Lecuona, is managing the Women’s Rights Declaration branch for Mexico nowadays.

Remember when I said something about how The Heritage Foundation was giving money to Mexican radfems to support their anti trans rights efforts?

The money went through an anti-surrogacy org, more specifically: Heritage Foundation -> Early Institute -> FEMMVA (Mexican Feminists Against Rented Wombs)

They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

Problem is, the more you externalize these problems, the more you idealize and fetishize those spaces, and waxing philosophical about the 'wisdom of the volk' is, generally, the worst imaginable approach when dealing with viral bullshit.

There's a particularly noxious strain of implicit populism running through these discussions, left and centre (tho in slightly different ways), which simply cannot conceive of bad ideas emerging from or thriving in an authentic, grassroots, democratic and/or radical space.

Not surprised as I have seen transphobic ciswomen say time and time again:

That wombyn should be proud of their womb and cherish period pains, as they are things that distinguish "real women" from "fake women" and afabs who try to remove that sacred source of holiness are "traitor to womyn."
Some of the alt-health grifter TERFs I used to track, like Mary Lou Singleton & Isabella Malbin, used to have ties to the Free Birth Society but even they're denouncing it now while still pushing their own version of "natural/wild birth". Lierre Keith also did an interview on FBS podcast.
