What all this self-pitying sludge about ICE agents feeling depressed and scared is forcing into our collective forebrain is the knowledge that our culture has placed a premium not just on creating classes of men who kill and torture at will, but on forcing the rest of us to love them at gunpoint.

Yes. Do you know how many families are being supported by their neighbors right now? Families afraid to leave home being fed by their neighborhoods; immigrant communities feeding the old hippies standing on their street corners with whistles in 10-degree snowstorms. They cannot break us

I want to say how sorry I am to my followers in Minneapolis that your city has been at the center of so much demonization over the last five years.

In a different way, I understand it as an Iranian.

To have your home constantly mentioned in such a harsh way is exhausting and painful.

The conservative rhetoric around protecting women makes more sense once you understand that victims exist purely as a hypothetical for them. Once a victim actually claims the label, they become a threat. This is also why they prefer dead women to living victims.

The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social, could you please establish an official NYC Mayor account on Bluesky and post everything your office is currently posting on X over here?

And please remove all city accounts from X, which has become a CSAM creation and distribution site?

No money for Musk, ever, please.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

There are thousands of things like this in tech. Why is search bad in Gmail. Why does Bluetooth suck. Why are most streaming apps bad. Why is file transfer still annoying. Every day it feels like I've got random issues with tech stuff while these companies sink billions into AI
if microsoft just made outlook search not suck they'd see triple the productivity gains of any AI integration

The last political column I was allowed to write in the @washingtonpost.com was a criticism of Obama.

His people took issue with my piece, but we were respectful.

Now he is tweeting in support of me.

This is how free political speech and respect for debate *actually works*.

Or used to work.

one forgotten reason about why newsom blows ass is that time he vetoed a *unanimous* vote in the legislature that would've capped copays for insulin at $35. stated reason was because CA was going to start making its own insulin.

that veto was in 2023. CA still ain't making its own insulin.

I think Democrats should offer voters a broadly defined anti-fraud platform. Yes, obviously, start with Trump’s influence peddling, but don’t stop there. Online fraud is massive, almost every phone call you get is a scam, and the solution has to be federal or it just won’t work.
