The order affirms what we’ve said all along: The PG’s lawless union-busting cannot stand. We made sure it didn’t. We’re taking back what they stole from us. We won this strike.

Slightly later in the morning than planned: we have a new website!! You should receive an email with everything you need to know, but let us know how it goes for you. We've worked so hard to bring this to you (especially Luke!) and we're so excited about it!
Despite the ravages of age and an internet steeped in misinformation, your eyes – in this one case – do not deceive you: Website different. It’s taken an immense amount of time and effort, but welcome to Aftermath version 2.0:

"How could Dems cave like this after last Tuesday's victory?" But it wasn't a victory for Schumer. His candidate -- the Trump-supported one -- lost. The jubilation and hope folks feel about Mamdani? Chuck feels the opposite. To sum up: he sucks.

It's me, one of the people losing their health insurance!
Senators on the brink of retirement who lived full, wealthy lives and never feared the loss of their own healthcare voting for their constituents to die from their inability to afford the same is treasonous

Yeah, I'm sorry, but you do not keep the government shut for more than a month and then NOT get a deal on the main item you have been messaging on without completely shifting the blame dynamic.
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.
Tentative Senate deal to end shutdown, multiple sources tell me & @frankthorp.bsky.social:

—CR through Jan 30
—Approps minibus
—Fully funds SNAP
—Reverses Trump’s shutdown RIFs
—Promise of Senate vote on ACA subsidies by Dec second week (details/outcome uncertain)
—Led by King/Shaheen/Hassan

Trying to imagine the political fallout of caving for nothing, thus implying that you really were the party obstructing the government for no reason. They’re gonna get so goddamned burned by this for no fucking reason.

"The mystery is why Schumer keeps flirting with capitulation in exchange for nothing."
SCOOP: Schumer was more involved than reported with the attempted cave on the government shutdown. The Gang of 8 Senate Dems had his approval & he was getting daily updates.
In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.

Something we talked about in my prison chaplaincy class at div school was that sometimes the people you work with will try to scam you, and while there's a lot of complexity that goes into why and how to respond, you are also not obligated to let yourself get scammed
i don’t think the main problem with the american church is “too many of them refuse to be scammed by a lady who is obviously lying.”
There is a lady on TikTok pretending to have a baby that has gone without formula all night — she is calling churches around the country to ask if they can help.

Some of them are really embarrassing themselves. Especially the mega-churches.
