A serious win here from the @fsuireland.bsky.social with “maximum flexibility” agreed that will now allow hundreds of staff members to go back to common sense remote working arrangements. Always forward, never back.

Fantastic rollicking stuff here about the potential for a "post-American internet" and the broader enshittification thesis. Our threshold for holding our mouths open and letting techno-feudalist over lords pour crap down our throats has grown too waaaaaay too high.

The one big benefit of "agile working" is I can hear multiple people in the office today who clearly have colds and bad coughs and I will simply go home at lunch to avoid catching their shit
Flood barriers have been put in place along the Lagan for fear of a Storm Bram tidal surge

a perfect day to work in the office

No disrespect to @deanbuckley.bsky.social, who is a genuinely good journalist, but it is absolutely mental that he's the one who has had to pick up this Gareth Sheridan shit, as opposed to seeing some accountability from the much more high profile people who initially gave him positive attention

People have until 3pm Tuesday to explain, en masse, to the government that forcing people back to the office is plain fucking stupid. Get scribbling. Still time!

Workers mobilised last week for an ICTU organised Workplace Day of Action for Palestine. It was a response to a vicious crackdown on Palestinian civil society (including unions) and an effort to build for the @ipsc.bsky.social demo the next day.

Is there zero strategic foresight in this city?

Another key cultural building in an emerging quarter is about to bite the dust.

We need to establish the legal concept of an #AssetOfCommunityValue here ASAP.

Soon there’ll be nothing left but paddywhackery and hollow nostalgia.

Ireland had many statues honouring violent colonial figures - many Irish-born. Gough’s huge Phoenix Park statue honoured someone who enforced opium on China.

It was vandalised and blown up. Reexamining who we choose to honour is essential for any rational society.

And that goes for Herzog too.

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.
