$100 million dollars on punishment and enforcement. Imagine what half that would do given to the social workers and programs that are repeatedly shown to actually improve long-term outcomes.

I thought I remembered ESO having that in there. It's so great! I can just imagine having a factory floor with workers walking back and forth between machine consoles and doing the crafting animation on them, or carrying crates of finished goods to an adjoining warehouse. I neeeed it!

After a meeting with workers I was lucky to be stopped by Cindy, who after being diagnosed with lymphoma, was told each treatment would cost her $10K. But thanks to her union health care, she’s a survivor.

We're saying don't favor one group over others. Don't play favorites, govt. And, workers are needed to support the rest of society via taxes. The diminishing job offerings are a consequence of tariffs, billionaires not paying their fair share (hiding $, lobbying), & employers' "efficiency"

I still can’t access the money the U.S. government owes me from my tax returns because YOU fired the IRS workers and left the agency dysfunctional. That happened long before this shutdown.
And if you can ignore the law to pay troops, you can ignore the law to release these funds. This is on you.

No kings day has me thinking about politeness. There’s a time and place to be polite. Be polite to your friends, your neighbors, your community, and service workers. Don’t be polite to fuckin cops and fascists.

if you have a product or service that amasses a billion dollars in "profit," and you take that profit for yourself despite not doing any actual day to day work (and DEFINITELY not harder work or longer hours than employees), your "job" shouldn't exist. that billion should be split amongst workers

Honestly, it speaks to the common sense brilliance of workers trying to feed their families - go where homeowners who need repairs go to shop. Iirc there haven’t been many shootings or drug busts involving these workers at HD. They’re humans trying to survive. Good people understand that.

He's talking about places like where I live (southwest Florida), where at least a thousand or more turned out today and brought donations for our local farm workers & others who are being harassed or deported by ICE. DHS actually used Florida footage in one of their Chicago propaganda videos.

And here lies the limit.
To fully silence a population this large—to police every street, feed, & voice—would demand an expansion of labor it's very unlikely the state could ever supply.
There aren’t enough workers (esp ideologically committed to do the hard work) for repression at a full scale.
