AAA multimillion-dollar games aiming for hyper photorealism, but instead of being realistic about people it's realistic abstractions of people, like physical marionettes with their most interesting mechanical limitations mostly intact, or animate scale models. Super-convincing practical effects.

I am coming up on 61 days of posting a drawing every day. As much of a burden it has been on my workflow, I have to confess that it's made people click the good serotonin buttons. I had planned to reclaim the time I've been spending on these once December hits, but I'll need to make more art posts.

One of my most firmly-held gaming opinions is that above all other things, above competition, above rank & above any measure of skill, fighting games are social games at their very finest. A fighting game is a reason to show up to locals, to sit down with strangers, to meet people, to make friends.

I was a freelance illustrator coming out of school & I kept having to fight to get my invoices paid by clients. It was frustrating so I decided to try and make art "for myself," and so I started a webcomic. That felt like I could never get a foot into selling books or merch so now I'm gamedev (lol).

I am not a coder but I get the feeling that today there are a lot of people in Software who are only there to create perpetual money machines, sell data or pull fillings, and by contrast a lot of the technology surge that brought us to the 2000's was made by people who genuinely love to make things.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
