The tiny number of restrooms at #SoundTransit stations in the #Seattle area are not usable because of a network outage. So you have to hope you can find a security officer before you 💩 yourself.

I have been yelling about this for 15 years that it was absurd to build a light rail station with non-signalized freeway ramps. WSDOT still on track to wait til 25 years after the light rail station opens to fix anything. Close the ramps now.
Also NONE of this will work (or is working) for transit riders traveling north bound on Rainier without dedicated bus-only lanes south of Massachusetts. In these designs, and in the current situation, the bus gets stuck behind cars queuing in the right lane to get on I-90.

Why are we assuming that we want to maintain car volumes? To meet our climate, public health and road safety goals as a city, there is no reason any on or off ramp in #Seattle should require multiple lanes. #Rainier

Something I needed reminding of after listening to this episode of #withpod (@chrislhayes.bsky.social) is that the "subsidies" much argued about are roughly equivalent to the MASSIVE tax benefit employers get for paying for part of health insurance costs.

You know, there are several reasons why that one editorial about Katie Wilson is particularly revealing.

It unintentionally reveals a schema, to a hovering between capital c and small c conservative, of what a leader is supposed to *be*.

Wilson Wins In a Squeaker (That Should Not Have Been This Close)
Wonder if incumbent Bruce Harrell will call her "Mayor-Elect Wilson" or if he'll keep referring to his successor as "this person" and "she."

Everyone is going to focus on Katie being a socialist but what they should be focused on is that she’s a renter and a non-driver!

A majority of the city of Seattle are renters and a huge fraction don't drive at all or very often. Finally both those constituencies will have a major that shares their lives. Has that even happened before (since automobiles became the default) in Seattle??

UPDATE: latest round of ballots counted shows that Katie Wilson now leads Bruce Harrell in the Seattle Mayor's race by 1,346 votes.

That's currently within the 2,000 vote margin to trigger an automatic machine recount. Though there are ~1,000 ballots with signature issues that could change that.

@murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov I hope this is just a rumor because this would be disrespectful to the people Democrats say they’re fighting for.
Let me get this right… a sufficient number Senate Democrats appear to be willing to reopen government to alleviate air travel for upper & upper-middle income people at the expense of access to healthcare for lower income people. Yes?
