I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.

People on social media may use the term 'memory-holed' a lot but that's because we're trying to draw attention to things like this. Almost everyone I know was against the Iraq war at the time, but it has been memory-holed, because the current custodians of history would prefer it to be forgotten.
People have said this to me on Bluesky recently, how the US had unanimous support and nobody opposed the Iraq war, which is pretty galling when I had a story published in an anthology entitled 'Irish Writers Against War', and I'm in the march against that war, which features on the front cover.

ALL you have to do is just not use it, tell these companies you aren't using it, and make fun of people who do. We need a mass collective effort to make genAI extremely uncool, lame, embarrassing, cringe. Everyone needs to react to it with a MOUNTAIN of hostility until they run out of steam.

Also, complain long and loud, when GenAI screws up your interaction with a company - obtaining/using their products, contacting customer service, whatever. Do this direct and on social media. Employees may well be unable to push back against directives to use this garbage without risking their jobs.
