1. The point of reclaiming the flag as a symbol is not to convince you, Nameless Faceless Internet Leftist, to join the team. You're already on the team. It's to convince John/Jane Q. Average American to get on the team.

Whatever they'd think of civilians owning AR-15s, the response of most of the "founding fathers" to learning that the President can drop a brigade of light infantry into a city to harass the residents with no oversight because they aren't in the chain of command would be "Where do I get mine?"

This strikes me as a smart way to get the NG out there but not in a direct armed confrontation with the feds. I was definetly expecting the riot gear, not this.
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.
