Calling disabled characters “resilient” is often just a nicer way of saying “we’re fine letting the world hurt you.”

As a kid I won a contest through my high school library, and for the prize I got to pick any book I wanted. I picked one of the few Kurt Vonnegut books I hadn’t read yet. I’ll never forget that librarian and what that relationship meant to me.

Yes! More trans cyberpunk! If you’re a writer working on a story like this, let me know! I would LOVE to edit one!
Putting together a list of every cyberpunk book ever written by Trans+ person. Trad or self.

If you’ve got ‘em, drop em’ below.

To kick things off, Aubrey Wood’s modern masterpiece Bang Bang Bodhisattva.

Who would have thought transes would vibe with a genre that's all about expressionist transhumanism in times of brutal corporate oppression and the rule of corruption.

First read of the year: Hammajang Luck by Makana Yamamoto. AKA Heist Lesbians. Super queer and super fun, with one of my favorite things: friendship.

And while we’re at it, let’s remove fatphobic language, too.
It's 2026, and you are writers who know lots of words, so let's get rid of some ableist ones:

Deaf and blind as synonyms for ignorant ("fell on deaf ears" or "turned a blind eye to").

Crutch as a bad thing.

Crippled as a synonym for broken.

Crazy / insane / psycho when you mean bad/evil.

December #storygraph reading wrap-up! Comics, graphic novels, and manga dominated to help me get closer to my reading goal for the year, but still got in a few novels, including Dune: House Atreides which is 700+ words 😳 I’m reading every X-Men comic in order and checked a few off the list 😁

Always a good day to buy trans books from trans authors, as the shitregime continues to try and eradicate us all.
On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?

On the 11th day of #editing my #editor gave to me . . .

A thesaurus!

According to Merriam-Webster, there are estimates that there are one million (that’s 1,000,000) words in the English language, give or take.

Reading is resistance!
That's something I hope to work on correcting in 2026.

If you managed to read at all this year, good for you. It's a stand against fascism. Keep it up. Keep claiming the agency that they want to steal from you.

On the 10th day of #editing my #editor gave to me. . .

Varied sentence structure!

Sentences come in all different shapes and sizes—it’s more interesting that way and can keep the reader from getting bored.
