Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images.

The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

Horrendously stressful week at work. I plan to rectify this with wine and an enormous burrito.

This is a really interesting article about a horrifying distortion of sign language happening in the UK, and which its creators are now trying to export to other countries and their sign languages

Learn actual sign languages from Deaf people, not from hearing people making their own weird versions!

I know I'm really boring on social media because I'm not funny or hugely interesting, but then sometimes I see what people post on their own feeds and I'm just like, well at least I'm not *that* boring? So what I'm saying is, yes, I am a hypocritical bitch.

Man at train stations: people are queuing for a reason. Shoving in while people are still trying to get off the train just makes you look like a bellend.

I see Amazon is trying to get in on the "buy cheap tat, dropshipped from China" act 🙄

I always thought I didn't like knitting socks, but tiny sock needles and interesting yarn might be the answer?

This is really good. What absolutely gets me is that the AI generated images are so...cute? Like they do not fit the aesthetics of CodBlops at all?

Brother Gregor never spoke and often spooked the neophytes with his appearance, but he was a gentle soul and a phenomenal cook and knew more ways to prepare a fish than the abbot knew hymns

I don't think knitting on the train is that weird, but the man sitting opposite who just not very subtly told the person he's sitting with clearly disagrees 🙄

Socks might actually be the best "I don't have to think about this" knitting when you're poorly.

I will die on the hill that Mary Shelley and Lord Byron were friends. They wrote to each other even after Percy was dead! GdT ending Frankenstein with a Byron quote is good (and it's a quote that makes sense in context!). Stop writing terrible takes about how it's disrespectful!

Yes, "pregnant people" is inclusive language that describes pregnant cis women AS WELL AS trans men and nonbinary people, a lot of whom can get pregnant. But it also describes, like, 12-year-old girls who get pregnant. Do centrist pig-dogs think THEY are "women" too? Coz...bit of a red flag, that.

The BBC is so much more than its news output. Do people who want it defunded realise what they're going to lose? TV drama, radio comedy, so much educational kids content!

Controversial take, perhaps, but for all the political interfering and all its faults, the BBC is a positive institution. Like the NHS, it's a remnant of socialism in an increasingly capitalist hellscape. This is why the right on both sides of the pond are coming for it. It needs support.
