There has been of talk of the right coming here and how they are attempting to co-opt or destroy it so they control communication. The solution is truly distributed platforms like Mastodon. I know its nerdy and hard, but join if your truly value the ability to say whatever you want.
Stop platforming liars.
CNN’s decision to platform Stephen Miller’s wife normalizes an ideology rooted in ethno-nationalism & erasure. Democracies don’t survive by giving fascists a dais & a microphone that offers institutional legitimacy. These voices aren’t contributors to public discourse. They are a threat to it.

I feel like we often treat athletes like children, not professionals. Ohh something bad happened to them, how will they ever recover!!

But also, it was fucking windy as shit in PHI today. Kicking was not a sure thing.
this one’s also great because the “vibes” for the Eagles have been off all season regardless of analytics. also, the “vibes” also are good after a successful conversion.

I will never understand people like this. For me, learning to create art is the fun part. I have so many unfinished loops, unedited photos and articles written that are bad or incomplete. It's more fun to take the journey. These assholes want to skip to the destination.
I cannot stop laughing. This is so indicative of what's wrong with these AI people and how they view art

It consistently gives me the dumbest fucking answers ever.

I feel bad for everyone whose jobs are impacted by the AI bubble, but AI will make the Internet so useless and full of garbage that either AI or the Internet will die.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

It doesn't matter how you feel about her work, whether it was a formative touchstone or not. If you still buy the merch or hype up Harry Potter, you are complicit.
Hey yall not what I wanted to do on my birthday but let it be clear

"Death of the artist" is all well & good but you cannot Seperate the art from the artist when the artist is still alive, a terf & every penny they recieve reinforces their beliefs & is used to actively harm Trans folks!

Alternative assessment. Trump is a fucking coward with no actual political beliefs and gravitates to powerful men.
Every article by a 'savvy' political analyst reads like a focus group transcript with a low-information voter.

I manage a team of software engineers, and I give this advice all the time. Tell me when you don't know something so we can teach you. (Or we don't operate under false pretenses when making choices. )
When I talk to students about public speaking or teaching, I always bring this up: Just tell people when you don't know something! It's remarkably powerful b/c it signals to your audience that you know the boundaries of your expertise and they can trust what you DO talk about.
completely outside of politics, this is so charming

Starbucks' CEO is paid $95.8 MILLION.

The median worker at Starbucks makes $14,674 a year.

Instead of recognizing its worker union, Starbucks writes off its union-busting expenses on its taxes.

That's why Starbucks workers are striking today.

I won't cross the picket line.

Anytime someone blames immigrants for a problem, it's a problem they don't actually want to solve.
Their 50-year mortgage plan bombed & they won’t build housing or touch Wall Street landlords, so they’re hoping you blame your high rent on immigrants.
