I think the GOP fall into four categories.
1 - They are being blackmailed.
2 - They are being Bribed
3 - They, or their family, are being threatened.
4 - They simply lust for power over others.
None of those categories are empty.

Under the pretext of an unjust war, cancel the upcoming elections.

My guess? He’s seen too many ‘bunkers’ in movies about attacks on the WH.
The reality of the real one doesn’t look like a film set.
