Why does the federal government continue to subsidize an industry that won't even clean up its own mess? Canadian taxpayers are getting dinged twice -- first to help those companies extract resources, then again when we have to clean up the mess they left behind.

this is the thing. it's not just "jobs"; anyone can create jobs. the real trick comes when you're creating the conditions for jobs to be created that will be skilled, highly paid, and long living.

one of the reasons i am fond of e-books. most novels i read i am never going to read again, and so i previously ended up with boxes full of paperbacks. some i donated, but there were a lot of them.
