I only get pho at this place down the street when I'm feeling sick and I wonder if my waiter thinks of me as that wretched guy who always has a runny nose and looks like shit

Top 10 things I enjoy about living in the future:
10. Literacy
9. Internet was fun at first
8. Recording media so I can be nostalgic for the past
7. Get places by flying through the sky
6. Have a car I drive other places
5. 💊 that fixes problem
4. 💊 for fun
3. 👓
2. Always have food
1. Hot Shower
for all the bitchin and moanin about the future not arriving fast enough I sure am glad to live far enough into it that I have all the clean hot water I want just coming out of the wall and I don’t have to give even a single thought to where it came from, how it got clean, or where it goes after

I'm moving furniture around and discovered this discrete charging block, still plugged in. I started charging things at my desk instead of leaving them on top of the bookshelf and then forgot I'd ever done this.

My review of the Lomography Konstruktor as a DIY kit is, idk "two stars" ig? C+?
It's one of those products that's 90% of the way to greatness but has enough little problems I can't really endorse it.
If there weren't youtube videos of the assembly I would have been unsure how to proceed sometimes.

There are several free light meter apps with good reviews but I threw a few bucks at this developer just because I'm so charmed to see an app with skeuomorphic design in 2025

Last night I watched techconnectify.bsky.social's video about old photographic processes and this morning YT showed me a guy who built a portable wet plate lab and takes photos with the old collodion process.

This is true, I'd recommend the book to anyone.
I think a lot of people see the title and expect Seeing Like A State to be right/libertarian but it's actually about high modernism destroying indigenous ways of knowing.
i enjoyed reading this, although I usually prefer the word “interpretable” vs “legible” when I talk about this stuff.

also seeing like a state is a book literally everyone should read

I hate when parking apps only offer a flat "overnight rate". Nobody is parking overnight in your lot between a restaurant and another restaurant. If you want to fuck me $15 for an hour of parking just say so.

This weekend I played in a tournament where they had the Elton John collector's edition. It was the nicest and most flamboyant pinball machine I've ever seen. A laser projector between the two screens on top made patterns on the ceiling, which reflected on the glass of other games and confused me.

Sometimes when an old reply starts getting new likes it's a hint about a larger conversation happening on the site. Since my reply to this comic is getting pinged I gather someone made a new hole? And it feels like the old hole?
I want to try it out where is the new hole?

When I can't remember how to spell something I switch to dictation mode and let the computer spell it for me. But every time I say "ludicrous" it types out "Ludacris" and idk why the rapper is iOS's first guess.

I have a moderation list just for people who do not appreciate Sneakers (1992) but it's only got one guy on it. Yesterday, with dozens of threads about Sneakers (1992), I thought I'd be able to find someone saying it was "overrated" but nope - everyone loves it. Objectively perfect movie.
