O’Hara was incredible forever, on SCTV, the Christopher Guest movies, Beetlejuice, Home Alone, etc. But she didn’t become as famous as her talent warranted until her 60s. Suddenly it was like everyone caught up to her, and she could’ve worked forever. To have her taken away at this moment? No.

The SCTV years were my introduction to her brilliant talents. My affection and respect for her only grew as the years went by. This one hurts, but I'm grateful to have a record of the work to enjoy.

Catherine O’Hara was supposed to join the cast of SNL in the Dick Ebersol era but then she met Michael O’Donoghue at 30 Rock and said “NO THANKS” and went back to SCTV, queen

The brilliant, hilarious, beautiful legend Catherine O'Hara has left us. SCTV was my thing as a kid, in no small part due to her work on it. She made everything she was in better, and by all accounts, was a good human being to boot. RIP to a Canadian treasure, and one of my all time favourites.

Just a reminder that our Nazi President - who is threatening the sovereignty of multiple nations, laying siege to an American city with his army of brownshirts and openly raiding the treasury to enrich himself - is also a sadistic and unrepentant pedophile.
Okay, so impeach when?

Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.

I will, if the movie's not playing in the town where I live, Teddy boy! Why are all the companies that own and control the things I love run by dimwitted, soulless assholes like this guy? It's a little disspiriting, to say the least.

Trump’s mistreatment of his vilest vassals is one of the few things I appreciate about him.

The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same
