I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

kind of remarkable how the two high profile ICE killings this year have been alex pretti and renee good, two people about whom NO ONE has ANY unkind words to say. if they could dig up anyone who would willingly talk shit on either person they’d have done it

Quite glad that the big story in British politics is whether Andy Burnham will apply to stand in a by-election and not people being gunned down by state militias.

Solidarity with Minnesotans resisting this barbarity.

Where's the outrage we saw when Angela Rayner, who paid the wrong amount of tax on a property for her disabled son, & followed poor advice? She had a single breach of code for an amount ~10% of what Farage has tried to tax dodge.

When is he going to be made to resign due to media pressure?

For the first time in history, the archbishop responsible for U.S. service members said officers may be morally obligated to disobey a sitting president’s orders.

Broglio said a Trump-ordered invasion of Greenland would violate Catholic teaching and that Catholic troops could refuse to comply.
Conservative Military Archbishop Says Catholic Troops Can Defy Trump Orders on Greenland
The archbishop responsible for pastoral care of U.S. service members says an unjust attack on a friendly nation justifies troops’ conscientious refusal under Catholic moral teaching.

Starmer and all of our party leaders should be sending a message of support and solidarity to the Somali community tonight. Once again Trump repeated his racism and bigotry singling them out as criminal and mentally insane and claiming Somalia is not a country. Love to our Somali community tonight ❤️

I'm also old enough to remember all those who told us Trump would make the world more stable. One year in, he's threatening to destroy an eight decade security alliance, the pillar of Western stability, over not getting an award.

Love this little piece of street art in an old electrical box on University Avenue in Glasgow, turning it into what is potentially Glasgow's smallest art gallery. It was created by the ceramic artist Louise McVey.

When people talk about reasons to leave X, the fact that the owner is a mass murderer doesn't get mentioned enough. The Grok porn stuff is foul. The naked white nationalism is foul. This is worse.
Too few people are talking about the blood on Elon Musk's hands.

When DOGE slashed foreign aid, it wasn't just numbers on a screen. It was insulin, food, and antibiotics being ripped away from the world's poorest children.

Musk is responsible for the death of thousands

Trump Nobel Prize thing has me thinking (again) about J L Austen and his Performative Utterances. The point is that words and objects only have meaning that's ascribed to them by people and that requires legitimacy. A kid saying to two others "I now pronounce you and and wife" doesn't marry them..

Heard this week of someone tripping up and breaking their hip in Florida & the medical bills coming to $145,000.

Also a 90+yr old up in court for stealing as she’d shoplifted her husband’s meds. They couldn’t afford insurance.

We need to pay a little more tax to keep the huge benefits of the NHS.

The National Catholic Reporter publicly labeled JD Vance a “moral stain” on the Roman Catholic faith. The blistering piece went on to point out Vance's “twisted and wrongheaded view of Christianity” for inflaming tensions by maligning a woman killed by ICE rather than promoting healing.

We had other people stay after him but he was lovely, would not take money and looked despairing and exhausted. One week end, a multicultural 1/4

Or as MrEST put it “only perverts are getting Grok to do this”.
Just heard an AI ethicist talk about how important it is that we say ‘MEN are using Grok to undress images of babies, children and women’ not ‘Grok is….’. Grok isn’t responsible for the action, the men enabling & using it for this repulsive purpose are. Small but important bit of linguistic accuracy
