The New School is now a place where students cannot major in History, Anthropology, Sociology, Global Policy & International Affairs, Global Studies, Urban Studies, or Environmental Studies. And more pauses, closures, and mergers coming down the pike this week. The future is uncertain.

New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.

This moment last night on Paramount+'s Golazo Show
narrating the November 18, 1803 Battle of Vertières and connecting it to Haiti's qualification for the World Cup was perhaps my favorite moment of sporting commentary ever.

I laughed at loud. These people are so pathetic; our enemies are numbskulls. They will kill us all and still not know hs physics.

COWEN: The stupidest question possible: Why don’t we just make more GPUs?

ALTMAN: Because we need to make more electrons.

You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

a big problem is that, the ordinary electoral and constitutional means for keeping him out of, or removing him from, power having failed, there is an (understandable) unwillingness to game out alternative pathways towards his removal
sort of genuinely have no idea what happens when the Epstein shit reaches the White House. literally every scandal so far he's gone "nah" and it's worked pretty well. excited to see if he wriggles his way out of this jam, I guess
