I feel like I just need to brag for a moment, but the other day I actually finished a novel. It's a MASSIVE achievement for me, actually taking a story through to completion. I'm actually hoping to perhaps seek publication, but we'll see.

I just had an out-of-body writing experience. I started a scene, unsure of how it would fit into the story, and a character I never planned sprang fully-formed into my mind and said "I got it, just write down what I do."
Like I was just a passenger in the story.

It's time to step back and call this one done for now. I'd say I'm quite pleased with how the end result turned out. The more dramatic and stark shading gives it a lot more depth than I normally manage.
