In the tutorial for Kingdom Hearts, in the middle of telling you critical things like how to move, jump, attack, and interact, the game tells you that breaking crates can sometimes give you items. This happens literally 0 times after the tutorial. Not even one additional time.

I think the corollary that a lot of people miss about "write what you know" is that *you have the power to know more things.* Research and talking to people are a central part of writing!

I'm still streaming some time after the weekend, I got the computer parts TODAY so I'm wanting to stress test the new setup once we put them in.
I made great friends from streaming and lead to me having some fun moments in my life, I'm not going to let others' actions rob me from more of that.

Exactly. That kind of mentality is how you get translations like the infamous “master of unlocking” line from Resident Evil’s original English release. The sentence structure of the original line would sound hideously awkward if translated verbatim without that context.
People who are mad about "amogus references" in anime dubs and want "accurate translation" are completely ignorant to how often puns are used in Japanese that get lost in "accurate" translations
