I'm gonna be honest, I always think this kind of "literature actually teaches you essential skills to be a diving instructor" stuff is a real stretch. Poetic composition is a thing in itself; I do not think it is a particularly good way to learn empathy or communication.
Except, this person lacks to understand the value of poetry and how it might relate to the their desired vocation of being a victim advocate. Poetry teaches empathy, communication, inference, and deciphering the abstract. All of which are integral soft skills necessary for being a victim advocate

Suomessa yksi poliittisen vallan muoto on poliittiset virkanimitykset. Siitä tuskin ollaan pääsemässä ihan heti. Mutta kainosti pyytäisin, että tästäkin poliittisesta vallankäytöstä kannettaisiin poliittista vastuuta, esim. Kelan valtuuston kokoomuslaisten toimesta.

Suomessa yksi poliittisen vallan muoto on poliittiset virkanimitykset. Siitä tuskin ollaan pääsemässä ihan heti. Mutta kainosti pyytäisin, että tästäkin poliittisesta vallankäytöstä kannettaisiin poliittista vastuuta, esim. Kelan valtuuston kokoomuslaisten toimesta.

Kun vihdoin kaiken sekoilun jälkeen pääsin oikeaan aikaan luentoa pitämään, olikin yllättäen todella kivaa! Jotenkin juuri sopiva määrä adrenaliinia. Bonuksena yleisössä oli yksi vanha opiskelijani Joensuun ajoiltani.
Hajamielisen lehtorin perjantai: porhallan luentosaliin kolme minuuttia ennen luennon alkua. Sisällä onkin jo toinen opettaja. Ystävällisen opiskelijan avulla selviää, että vierailuluentoni alkaa vasta kahden tunnin päästä. Sanoisin, että 5/5-suoritus (🎄/5 olisi, jos ajat olisivat toisin päin).

This should be a mandatory lesson in grad school. Unbelievable that so many scientists do not seem to get this.
Recently did around 30 requests to ppl who'd published very similar papers to the one I needed reviews for. 3 declines, 25 no response. Please at least decline guys it slows stuff down so much otherwise.
I'm still relatively new to this journal associate editor business, but it already sucks… I've had a paper on my desk for more than a month now:

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

Yliopistojen pitäisi kilpailuttaa Moodlen kaltaiset palvelut uudelleen. Raha on ainoa, mitä nämä firmat uskovat. Tekoälymoskan tunkeminen joka paikkaan pitäisi kieltää jo kilpailutuksen spekseissä.

To all educators out there: We are trying to formulate a criterion for our exams that tackles the vagueness of LLM output and punishes it more strictly. If you recognize the issue, has anyone of you come up with a crisp operationalization of such a criterion. Also grateful for other pointers 🙏

basically believe that this mostly depends on when you got Properly Online - before a certain cut-off your normal internet experience was high agency/high effort, but it eventually became low agency/low effort, and it's impossible to create a social media experience that caters to both groups
yes I think @youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com has talked about this, it's deeply alienating to find out that the vast majority of people do not want the curated timeline / engagement / discussion version of social media that I find to be the only good version of the experience
