This pup found a stick shaped like an old timey pipe earlier today and has already solved three mysteries. 13/10

Animals are being strangled, mutilated, and left to die in agony just for wandering into a snare. These cruel traps are still legal in England, despite bans in Scotland and Wales.
It’s time to end this barbarity.

Interesting how I keep politely saying "a publishing disaster" rather than "my ex-publishers stole more than £20,000 of earnings from me".
Resharing some threads below. Apologies if it's boring for those who've seen them. When people enjoy the captions and pics I've posted in these and share them, more people read my books and it helps me repair things in the aftermath of a publishing disaster.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

When feeling fed up about how insanely expensive rural property has become in the last few years it’s always good to remember that it was only a little over a century ago that Stonehenge, plus its accompanying 6400 acres, sold for £6,600 to a private buyer via an advert in Country Life Magazine.

The things we do to animals in farming is bad, the things we do to dogs is actually worse. Lab experiments of unspeakable cruelty, thousands of dogs bred to die hard - every year. In the name of medicine.

And people can request Tom’s books through their local library system if buying yourself is out of budget. I’m in the US and Libby & my library’s website make it easy to borrow books they already have and request titles they don’t.
I thought it might be nice to give away my last 2 signed hardbacks of my novel 1983, with two lovely linocut hares by my mum.

All you have to do to enter is repost this (& leave a reply).

The book's been called "Stranger Things rewritten by Kurt Vonnegut and Sue Townsend”.
Extract in the replies.

I’m finding everything very difficult at the moment. I’m sure loads of us are. I don’t think we’re designed to take so much stress and existential anxiety piled upon us every day.

I've removed the paywall permanently from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you won't...

The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.

Cat names should evolve like avant-garde jazz. By the time of a cat's fifth birthday the name by which it is generally known should have zero resemblance to its original name.
