1/ What USDA is doing here is an attack on the core systems that keep the United States fed and economically stable. “Climate modeling” might sound like woke jargon but it's basic national security and has been since the 70s when the military started it. www.reuters.com/legal/litig...

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans who have served in uniform — and how our government is failing them right now.

Words aren’t enough, we need actions. Fund the VA. Fund mental healthcare. And end endless wars.

My husband and my dad are both veterans. They named the films closest to what they experienced. For my dad, it was When We Were Soldiers; in my husband’s case, Restrepo (he was providing air support). Ask the veteran in your life what film they relate to, you may learn something about their service.

ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Gambling is a scourge and we are completely wrong to legalize it and allow it to be accessible via apps.
“The consequences extend beyond lost money. Hazardous gambling is correlated with increased rates of anxiety and depression, and young men who engage in it are more likely to slide into a full-blown gambling addiction. Boys who frequently gamble miss more classes, perform worse in school”
The rise of sports betting is a growing public health crisis
Sports betting is more addictive than ever, and millions of young Americans are paying the price.

If you feel overwhelmed, remember that you can still make a difference doing little things. A compliment or word of encouragement, a tip to a favorite takeout place, a donation to a local charity, an email to your favorite author, time with a pet, a walk outside, or a phone call to a loved one.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.
