Just finished the last Christmas cards. I didnt like this year's Christmas stamps so I asked for the catalogue at counter 19 in the GPO and went "one of them, two of them, how much are them ones? Two of them so."

Late in life, I have realised winter in Dublin is way better if you wear wool socks every day. Buy 7 pairs of hiking socks. Or 14 if you're bad at laundry. Trust me.

Amazing!! Women Help Women (womenhelp.org) is manufacturing their own abortion pills in order to make abortion safer, simpler and more accessible across borders. They designed an eco-friendly combi-pack that's easier to mail discreetly and centred around women’s experiences and needs.

I would appreciate any help people can offer with this: Has anyone ever dealt with a housemate moving out and a large-scale landlord refusing to consent to any new housemate joining the property as a tenant?

In Drimnagh, the council is rolling on with plans to remake the Suir Road junction. The plan is to start construction next summer on work to make the junction safer for pedestrians and cyclists, and less congested for buses, Luases, and private-vehicle drivers.

It looks like every Irish outlet (that I've seen so far) has just transcribed a wire services report about the Linehan trial that is *dripping* with anti trans bias, misgendering the victim, calling the teenage victim an "activist" but not Linehan, and eliding the fact that the victim was a child

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
