The ESPN FC top 50 is here and we need to talk about the sudden conflict of interest the league has created with the high-impact player rule.
With coaches and GMs weighing in on these lists, they can influence whether or not their players can get a bag.

this is the other thing, the league asked for an extension on the grievance then used it to rush this across the line knowing the nwslpa already objected to it. they’re attempting to use the holiday to force a concession.
Doing this right before Christmas is extra nasty, btw. I know what you are, NWSL.

if certain teams don't want to spend $4.5m in 2026, they won't. it seems strange to me for the NWSL to do everything in their power to prevent what seems like an obvious solution.

one reason i adore women's sports is because large portions of every fanbase aren't fooled by bullshit. most fans in men's sports accept pro-owner/anti-labor arguments, but nwsl and wnba fans right now are both saying 'nope we see what you're trying to do, just pay players what they're worth k thx.'
