Definitely going to sign up to canvas for this one. ✊️

Bonkers. On behalf of professional engineers in Alberta, APEGA better be reviewing this too. Problem is that the new Registrar & CEO of APEGA is Paul Wynnyk, who was of course an ADM of Alberta's executive council under, that's right, Premier Danielle Smith. An uncompromised review is unlikely.

Bill 13, Regulated Professions Neutrality Act will be a can of worms that will hamstring regulators.
For example, did Kaycee Madu engage in "expressive conduct" when he engaged the Chief of Police about his traffic ticket? If it was expressive conduct could the Law Society discipline him?

If you're sitting in your urban home somewhere 300+ km away from the Rockies, thinking why should I care?
Just remember that ALL OF US get our drinking water from the Rockies and that selenium poisoning is associated with the mountain coal mines and cannot be undone.

A first for Alberta - a legislative petition, not just a policy petition, demanding the prohibition of all new coal mines (including Grassy) on the eastern slopes of the Rockies.

Let’s be clear on this: Danielle Smith is ripping up the Charter of Rights & Freedoms to take away rights from the most vulnerable people in Alberta. And she’s doing it to protect herself from the militant wing of her own party, nothing more. Hope it’s all she’s ever remembered for in the long run

The only rights that the UCP seem to care about, courtesy of their DM of Justice, Malcolm Lavoie, are the so-called "property rights" of Australian coal companies.
In other words the non-constitutionally protected corporate property rights over real constitutionally protected human rights. #abpoli
It’s worth remembering that the UCP aren’t just robbing Albertans of their charter rights…

Amery openly conceded that these laws also violate the Alberta Human Rights Act and the Alberta Bill of Rights.

That the UCP just rewrote.

This is absolutely unacceptable.

Only caring about your own rights is exactly how you lose them.

These bastards are only warming up, by starting with the most feared.
So is Mark Carney going to go along with the suspension of human rights by MAGA government in Alberta?
You cant' do nation-building by allowing an autocratic government to suspend the charter rights of citizens.
Just say no Mark.
it's pretty straightforward.
