Exactly. Pick from the menu of issues to rile up enough voters to turn out. Then focus on implementing the policies that keep the big money donors happy until it’s election time again. Rinse and repeat.
Once you realise that’s it’s never been about guns, or abortions, or trans people, or immigrants, or gas prices. You start to understand that it’s just about dividing the country. If a topic is very polarising the Republicans will weaponise it and say hey that thing you like, they want to take it.

The US has completed its nearly 50 year transition to a corporatocracy. The government works only for corporations and wealthy elite. Profits over lives. The people are only needed as laborers to increase their wealth and fund the government.

This also happened to me recently on Delta. Being stuck in a tight seat staring at the wall for 3 hours is torturous.
They should call these “wall seats”. I’m sure those baffling people who pick a window seat and never open the shade will gladly pay for this.
