I find that too many academics, especially behind the gates, express quite reductionist views in opposition to LLMs. These academics often have RAs, free library access & remunerated research time, & thus speak from privilege. We in the wild need all the info gathering help available. LLMs can help.

The worst aspect of LLMs is their development within corporate, colonial-capitalist ecosystems under climate catastrophe. All things being equal, LLMs offer time-saving efficiency like calculators. Since all things are not equal, however, LLMs are in reality emblematic of climate destruction.

It's part of a general problem in economics. Women are relegated to "care economy" issues. They aren't able to call out obvious fallacies in things like Gary Becker's "New Home Economics" without risking career. It's an "alt-truth" problem where economic science is not being done on firm ground.

URGENT: Demolitions of 14 homes and community spaces in the West Bank community of Umm al-Khair could begin as early as THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9, potentially leaving around 100 people (including children) homeless, with winter rapidly approaching.

For anyone who has followed Rajoelina's political career, and Madagascar's politics over that time, this is both eminently predictable and pretty incredible.

Also really revealing that he left on a French plane, if that bears out. Old habits die hard.
France has flown Madagascar's president Andry Rajoelina out of the country, RFI reports.

Ex prime minister Christian Ntsay and businessman Mamy Ravatomanga, a close ally of the president who protestors blamed for a lot of corruption, reportedly flew to Mauritius on a private jet on Saturday night.
