14AS3 isn't some fanciful stretch of a technicality to get at Trump just b/c he's bad. He demonstrates the very core of its purpose: you can't have free and fair elections with opponents who violently reject them. You can't have democracy with a party that mixes electoral competition with terrorism.

I love this! It illustrates the true idea of checks & balances far better than any textbook I remember. What does Congress having “the power of the purse” mean? It means the Treasury Dept ought to be a Congressional agency, not an Executive one. Most of the Cabinet ought to be answerable to Congress
