I like football. And pandas. Also, football.

I kept thinking about this last night. Absolutely terrifying.
If this is what they do when they're out on the street with people pointing cameras at them, what do you think is happening inside the ICE prison camps that they keep denying Members of Congress access to?

What's remarkable is not just that Trump is so loathsome and narcissistic that he doesn't care when an innocent woman is killed in a protest unless and until he finds out that her dad was a fan of his ... it's that he's so disregulated he *can't help but say so out loud*.
Trump: "ICE is gonna be too rough with somebody. They're gonna make a mistake sometimes. I felt horribly when I was told the young woman had the tragedy. But when I learned her father is - I hope he still is, but I don't know - was a tremendous Trump fan. It's terrible. It's so sad. It just happens"

He's a pathetic whiny wittle baby and it's frankly embarrassing how fucking weak Starmer, Macron and Merz are with him
Trump: "I should've gotten the Nobel Prize for each war, but I don't say that. I saved millions & millions of people. And don't let anybody tell you Norway doesn't control the shots, ok? It's in Norway. It's a joke. They lost such prestige. That's why I have such respect for what Maria did."

Oh yes sure VENEZUELA hacked elections of the US of A, no problem, I totally see it
Q: Now that Maduro is in custody, has any more information emerged that you could share with us regarding Venezuelan election software and Venezuelan ties to tampering with the 2020 election? Would you consider speaking to him personally?

TRUMP: Yeah, they've learned some things

The president encounters a binder clip for the first time, then talks about it for a while.

Remember when Joe Biden had a raspy voice and every major news organization created a 10-person Biden Is Old investigative team?
Trump: "Whoo. I'm glad my finger wasn't in that sucker. That could've dome some damage but you know what? I wouldn't have shown the pain. I would've gone back. Boy did you hear that? That was nasty. But I would not have shown the pain. I would've acted like nothing happens as my finger fell off."

He’s out of his mind, a narcissistic megalomaniac in an all-consuming spiral of self-pity and selfishness, but the truly insane people are the thousands of powerful men around him who won’t say so and continue to dance around him like this is normal, rational behavior.
(NYT) - President Trump is now claiming that one reason he is pushing to acquire Greenland is that he didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize, according to a message he sent to Norway’s prime minister over the weekend.

“Give me a Nobel Peace Prize or I’m gonna invade sovereign territory and completely demolish age-old alliances” is fucking insane babble.

The man needs to be removed from office. He’s completely unfit. It is so dark that the GOP Congress won’t do shit.

The whole party needs to be unraveled.

These so-called "patriotic" 🇬🇧newspapers who brought you Brexit were never really patriotic at all.

They are driven by a disdain for Britain's European neighbours, and a fawning obsession with America.

They do not really want 🇬🇧 to be sovereign. They're content being a 🇺🇸vassal.

This is rr how most people I know became radical lefties. You go to an antifascist demonstration because you just think it's your democratic duty and you suddenly see cops beating your friends up to make way for actual Nazis. And then media will report you were the violent ones.
One of the things about people showing up to protest for the first time, that many, many armchair theorists don't grasp, is the effect of seeing what happens with your own eyes, then seeing how media covers it, and what is said ABOUT YOU by media and political personalities/office holders.
This dude is intense and correct

I don't understand why the phrasing still has to be this careful: "The footage *appears* to contradict"
You're doing a very good, detailed breakdown with video evidence. Why so fucking timid?

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

They need to start freaking out more. The Venezuela raid has apparently left Trump thinking he’s all-powerful and now he wants to do it again and again. Beyond the insanity of running foreign policy on short-term whims, it’s also literally the kind of thing that could set off global war.
Warner: "Nothing would lead to the absolute destruction of NATO more than US aggressive action against a longtime ally like Denmark"

Schumer: "I asked for assurances that they were not planning operations in other countries like Colombia and Cuba, and I was very very disappointed in their answer"

I remember vividly watching in shock the day before I interviewed for my current job and desperately needing to go to sleep but I simply couldn't. And in my shock I kept telling myself "at the very least Trump is definitely done forever now, even he can't come back from this."

Alas...
fuck outta here

I tripped over a rocking horse in a shop whilst carrying my 7 weeks old baby strapped to me. Baby was completely unharmed, I broke my foot.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

EU citizens - especially those in Greenland - deserve a clear answer to the question of how EU leaders would react to attempts of the US to annex Greenland. Will there be a clear political and economic response? Or is it also going to be a "complex situation" to be "closely monitored"?

"Maduro is a brutal authoritarian dictator," I wisely intone, as the corrupt demented paedophile US President violating Constitutional Law while operating a gestapo and concentration camps illegally arrests a foreign leader on charges which read like they were written on a paper placemat in crayon.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Because international media largely seems to struggle to choose the correct wording to describe what’s happening: the US, under the self describes „peace president“, attacked another country and kidnapped its president. That is factual, no matter how bad or illegitimate Maduro‘s rule is (very bad).

I have spoken with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and our Ambassador in Caracas. The EU is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela.

The EU has repeatedly stated that Mr Maduro lacks legitimacy and has defended a peaceful transition. (1/2)

After this, the EU should absolutely proceed on the assumption that Trump meant what he said about Greenland. Nothing is off the table anymore.
