Hello new followers! Just to say hello, I’m Neill, I write and draw comics. Often about robots. Increasingly about donuts. Here is one I made earlier!
THE VILLINOOS are back! And they’re on the cover of @phoneixcomicuk! Honestly I think this is my favourite cover I’ve ever drawn. Enjoy the intergalactic carnage, every week from now till Christmas! 👾
Also: some other little round weirdos are back apparently? Look there’s a LOT GOING ON. 🍩

You could say we’re really… pushing the envelope.
Now having to keep the envelopes THE PHOENIX comes in because they’re an essential part of the Donut Squad narrative. This is outstanding stuff in pushing the comics boundaries. Honestly, DONUT SQUAD is playing with the form in meta ways I have never seen before. (Follow @neillcameron.bsky.social!)

Can’t stop thinking about all the robber baron fucks that held secret meetings and spent MILLIONS AND MILLIONS in bribes and campaign investments and attack ads and media manipulation trying to tank Mamdani currently having the dawning realization that their money is completely and utterly useless.

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

First Saturday I haven’t had to work in, I think, 8 weeks? So naturally I have come into town to do a bit of work.

It’s so mad. Like, just the fact a kids comic is on that list, among that company, I’d be over the moon with. The fact it’s *my* comic: honestly cannot process.
This is so well deserved and brilliant to see a kids comic devoted entirely to anarchic fun being shortlisted. Donut Squad are, quite rightly, taking over the world. Congratulations!

I think we can all agree this would be RIGHT and DESERVED.
This might be the first work to win the Booker and the Turner prizes.

Started drawing at 7:30am yesterday, finished at 11:30pm.
Now in fairness, I did take an hour off in the middle to watch the Traitors. But that’s still quite a lot - SOME WOULD SAY TOO MUCH? - of drawing.

Love this!
Said this many times before, but: There’s no other medium that so routinely plays with both form, and the reality it constructs, as comics. I think that sense of play is fundamentally part of why children love the medium, and why publishing dropped the ball for so long in not making them.

A thing I love about doing comics club is that there are all kinds of theoretical and philosophical arguments about creativity and storytelling, that I get to have in person, with a roomful of very shouty 9-year-olds.

Donut Squad have been thrown OUT of the Phoenix! So where have they ended up? Find out in this week’s comic!
…well, technically, not *in* it. That’s kind of the point. 🤔

Mmmmmmmustard! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
At Brownies this evening, my daughter decorated this horror - "Mustard Donut" she called it. She's been enjoying "Donut Squad" by @neillcameron.bsky.social and the influence seems obvious to me.
It was very tasty.
