Why do you think the oligarchs took direct control of social media and manipulated it towards the far right? 2020 scared the shit out of them and they spent the last 5 years making sure it couldn't happen again.
Since the early 2010s, social media has been identified with protesters. In the early days, social media was an effective tool for activists to organize and communicate with one another and directly with the public, providing counternarratives to the ones laid out in popular coverage.

I gave up trying to reform it. We've gotta build something bigger and better. The propaganda, the copaganda, the immigrant panic is too thoroughly embedded in institutional journalism. It's part of why it's dying. I stopped mourning this and started seeing opportunity. We can build something better.

We've been getting weekly produce delivered from the same farm for 8 years. Every fall they have a gathering on the farm, make wood fired pizza and have tons of carving pumpkins for everyone to take home. Local also means a smaller environmental footprint and no fluctuating costs to us
