The Charlie Kirk discourse is pretty fucking wild, someone on LinkedIn posted about him in memoriam with the phrase "Love always wins."

there was a competitive brand of baseball that prioritized fun and fan experience it was called the minor leagues and it was eviscerated to save a dollar
From @theathletic.com: The Savannah Bananas have millions of fans and are seemingly growing at warp speed. Banana Ball is wacky, but it's also a competitive brand of baseball that prioritizes fun and fan experience. MLB can learn from it.
What can MLB learn from the Savannah Bananas? A lot, it turns out

Good for Myles Straw.
Myles Straw is pretty much keeping #Bluejays in this ballgame by himself. #Jays have nine outs to play with to try to avoid a fifth straight loss.

I’d like to do a mailbag for tonight’s Deep Left Field Daily, so hit me up here or at [email protected] and we’ll “talk” tonight!

Baseball needs owners who want to win first and whatever money they make (which is still a LOT) is secondary.
Makes sense for the Jays, makes sense for literally any team. Ya know who he even makes sense for? The Pirates if they weren't constantly in sell mode

I have become the meme of "A Man takes an interest when he is in his 30s and its either smoking meats or history.." Mine is Meats, and these brisket bagel breakfast sandwiches the past two days have given me such good feelings.

A "Former GM"...
Let's start with the obvious: The Pirates should not trade Paul Skenes.

But this is baseball. Anything's possible.

And a former MLB GM has assembled five prospect-laden trade packages that Pittsburgh should at least pause to think about.

I give Gavin Newsom a lot of guff because, frankly, he's a terrible person who would drive over you with a bus if he thought it meant one extra vote. But this photo gives me Paul Lynde vibes, and if he runs his campaign like he's center-square on the '70s Hollywood Squares, I'll reconsider my vote.

I am not a practicing catholic anymore, but I get jacked up for the Conclave and new papacy. I find it fascinating, similarly to the way I love pro wrestling in that it's kind of silly and there are years of established rules. And there are always two ppl in the comments arguing scripture like this:
a man carrying a guitar walks down the street with another man
Alt: Roddy Piper and Keith David in they live, setting the groundwork for the greatest fight in cinema history later in the movie. But this gif service doesn't promote violence, which makes sense but really steps on my post here.

Trump just said he’s not sure if people in the U.S. are entitled to due process. That’s the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. This isn’t just ignorance — it’s authoritarianism in broad daylight. Every elected official should condemn this.

Trump says he's unsure whether people in the US are entitled to due process
President Donald Trump said he was unsure whether people in the U.S. are entitled to due process rights guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution as his administration pushes aggressively to deport immigrants who are in the country illegally and other non-citizens.

American. Citizens. Cannot. Be. Deported.

I know we all want to be concise, but we simply cannot use the shorthand terms of the fascists when they describe wildly illegal & unconstitutional things.

Extrajudicial renditions. Kidnappings. Wildly unconstitutional fascism. All right there as options.

I'm not saying J.D. Vance killed the Pope but I think he saw Vance and decided death was preferable to living in a world in which Vance might become the most powerful person in it one day.

Rest in peace, Francis. Rest with the assurance that you will encounter no one like J.D. Vance in Heaven.

Reading commentary on the guardians right now is absurd. Who would have thought the internet would just be filled with people saying whatever they want despite very clear and accessible evidence to the contrary.
