I don't even think they care about "wokeness" that much. It just so happens that a lot of change (like Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day) happens to occur in that general area, so it's an easy target.

It really is fascinating how many of their positions aren't really tied to any consistent logic or ideology beyond "winning" and "change is scary."

It’s ironic that the right gets defensive about Columbus Day. It's all about celebrating an illegal immigrant who took jobs from locals and brought disease, sexual assault, and murder.

I did it once way back in Medina and ended up on an interesting case. So that was kind of my expectation, not "don't make plans, then call in every day only to not do anything" lol oh well.

Well, my week of jury duty is up, and I didn't go downtown once lol. I was number 1080... they had 1-464 in on Monday, then added another batch on Wednesday, but that's officially it as of ten minutes ago. Disappointed tbh, particularly since I had to put everything on hold day to day just in case.

The neighborhood seems to be huge on this Laverne Gore for mayor. I'm open-minded, but I got her pamphlet and it doesn't really hit on anything all that important to me. I know what the stats say about crime, but I feel safe walking around. Definitely not my top bullet.
