This is my pinned post that links to my threads of Medieval Popes behaving badly. It's a humorous, slightly fast and loose retelling of the stories of some appalling Medieval Popes. When I have a new one, I'll reply with a link to the start of it. Enjoy!
It's a hot soup kind of night.

We are not at war with Venezuela, yet. The boats are civilian craft. The U.S. criminal code does not maintain a death penalty for drug smuggling. Due process is required before conviction or sentence.

All of the 80 people killed thus far are wanton murders slain under illegal orders. All of them.

This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

I saw the news about Comey but I couldn't find this Court meme! So I searched thru old posts & rediscovered some memes that I'd forgotten about. As I was saving a rediscovered meme, I saw this Court meme in the exact folder where I had originally looked🤣
So... I just finished reorganizing my memes🤣

In honor of the discussion we've been having about Black patronage appointments from Republican administrations, re-upping this:
Today I want to talk about the rather notorious case of Frazier Baker, postmaster of Lake City, South Carolina in 1898. Baker was a politically active Black man in upcounty South Carolina and important in the Black Farmers Alliance. After a Republican victory in the 1896
