Okay, okay, I give in, it’s 2025 awards eligibility time! I still have December stories coming, which means I cannot yet bring myself to make an extra-fancy graphic or a full long thread, but… until then, I hope you’ll consider reading some of my stories! Will link a couple favorites in the 🧵 (1/4)

Thanks to the overwhelming support we received during our Kickstarter last month, we were able to add a bonus campaign-exclusive sticker for backers who had picked up a sticker pack! Huge thanks to everyone who supported OTHERSIDE before we were cool 🪐 🗡️ 🌈

And… stickers are officially IN THE MAIL!

My dog—sweetly asleep at my side mere moments ago—just woke up, gave me a look that suggested she was disappointed and/or irritated to see me, then walked to the far side of the room and promptly fell back asleep. Short story rejections can never hurt me. I live with Winnie.

On this #TransDayofRemembrance, as we think of all those who have suffered and died needlessly because of the bigotry of a minority...

...it's a great time to think about how you can protect trans folks by speaking up and taking action in your community.

Thank you so much to everyone who's shared & donated for your generosity. The fundraiser's at 82% to Archita's goal and support has slowed a lot. She'd be most grateful if people keep sharing & giving so she can reach her goal & get some security in this terrible time.
Fellow Calcuttan writer/editor Archita Mittra is in desperate need of financial help. She recently lost her father, her home was damaged in the recent rains, & her mother's in hospital. They don't have insurance, & she's a freelancer. I can vouch for her. Please share widely & donate:

It’s hard to choose my favorite part of this wonderful panel we held in my writing classes this morning, but… no, yeah, my favorite part was absolutely the “fuck AI” part.

Huge thanks to these four brilliant panelists for our most fun session of the semester! 🤍
I was on a panel today, organized by the delightful @mruthrobinson.bsky.social , with @rsagarcia.bsky.social , @deborahldavitt.com and @filiphdz.bsky.social , and the unified front of hate and disdain for genAI when some asked how it had affected our writing process is still making me smile.

I'm putting forward two of the three stories I had published this year for your consideration. I'd love especially if you'd consider "Fishwife" for the Aurora Award for Short Fiction, since it's my mémère story 💜
