Hey all. I need help. Last year, my accountant made some grievous errors, like counting my entire rent as a deductible. It's decimated our savings— right before we needed them to renew my fiance's visa. If you can share this or donate 10 bucks, it would help us so much. Thank you

I cannot stress this enough: this is not possible

in a literal technological sense: you cannot train an AI and expect even comprehensible results with under ~1 million pieces of data, nobody can supply all that with the variance needed. You can only achieve it through wanton scraping
Larian CEO says Divinity could have gen AI assets in it but only if the tools are trained on the studio's own data.

"If we use a GenAI model to create in-game assets, then it'll be trained on data we own."

Useful reporting from Translucent. When we’ve suggested that trans women don’t pose a risk, people have argued that’s because of under reporting. These FOI requests suggest that might not be the case

positive framing in ttrpg design

So recently, I played a Dragonbane campaign. Something that stuck out to me was that shields in that game have a rule baked into shields: "You can not parry monster attacks."

But, some monster attacks have an exception where you can parry them. So what gives?

Not the one in Palestine, Ukraine, Venezuela, or the other 100+ armed conflicts in the world
There is no democratic mandate for massmurder

Sanction weapons manufacturers, dump their stocks, arrest politicians

Show some fucking sense of justice and human decency

I might've written more than one missive about a dungeon in World of Warcraft where once you had rescued the required amount of slaves, you could not rescue the others in cages.

That genuinely upset me every time. I would apologize to the NPCs I had to leave behind.

I don’t know man if capitalism has just resulted in a small network of pedophiles destroying all life on earth then perhaps we should consider that it is a complete and utter failure as a system

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

A sorceress astounded by her creation.

This painting has been floating around in my head for months now, and I only found the right time to bring it to fruition yesterday!

The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy
Investors expect AI use to soar. That’s not happening
Recent surveys point to flatlining business adoption

Goran is a great person, a great artist, and the whole anti-Palestine thing youre on is one of those "Ford funding Hitler" disasters you remember being shocked and dismayed by when you learned of in middle school.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷
