Another thing I learned with this drawing was the difference between ink laid down by pen & ink laid down by brush.

Id read inkers mention the difference in opacity of one ink or the other in pen nib vs brush application, but it wasnt real to me until I tried to fill in his loincloth/leg by brush.

Hideous. But this will only end when white people refuse to participate in it (actively or silently); why? b/c this behavior is the American rule not the exception.

Rockwell named this “The Problem We All Live With” b/c this treatment—including kids of color—has never *not* been the case.
