Do not sleep on this. We have 1,200 people in here roleplaying. I've seen people make their own free press, people doing propaganda, recruiting for factions, selling meat (?? how ??). Behind the scenes I'm seeing bosses organize, set orders, outline their vision, make secret plans and hierarchies.

excellent! I've been chewing on the hole Tolkien hero thing since watching Dune2. We desperately want Paul to be that, but I think it's brilliant that he is not. Perhaps I've read too much actual history vs. epic fantasy, but it strikes a powerful chord in pauls story

i mean, yes in the end, he takes the power, and he wields it, and from outside its easy to say, "see what a destructive tyrant" but from the inside, the volcanic pressure put on him is immensely powerful.

interesting - see I don't view him as unlikable really. He strikes me as naturally rather good
- i think his whole story is a cautionary-tale: ye adults and parents that lie, dismiss, mislead, and fuck up your kids may reap the price kinda thing.
(per films) he's really yanked along into his role

I've not read Dune, but Part 2 (film) is excellent! There's nothing like it. I love how anti-excitement it is, how mysterious, excellent tone, quiet, the score works, and weird trippy prophesies.
Not sure I need to read the series or not, but damn, I want more stories like this
