In case some of you are unaware.
Some service members that have gone unpaid are being targeted by unscrupulous loan companies.
Although they will receive back pay, these loans are averaging around 18% interest.
That’s evil and outrageous but, also a byproduct of the government shutdown.

Think through this. Even if it does pass the house (it won't) and get signed (it won't) we get the Epstein files out, ACA is screwed because even if Republicans had a plan, they couldn't get it into law and operational by Jan 1. So we are back in this fight in Jan and have lost nothing.
The Senate passing a bill that is NOT the House CR means the House has to also vote on it. Dems are doing harm reduction and forced the repubs to cave and pass a different bill than the House. Now let's see what House repubs do.
Honestly, this is likely as good of a deal as the Democrats are going to get.
Reinstates fired federal workers. Prevents admin from re-firing them. SNAP funding for a year, and an ACA vote in December.

This shutdown was a stupid move by Democrats in the first place. The president isn't "backed into a corner" because he doesn't care. If you care more about points on a board then the people being hurt by this pointless shutdown, you're part of the problem.
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.
