While some cities still say, “That would never work here,” others are setting aside excuses and turning ambition into action—reclaiming streets, reimagining mobility, and shaping safer, more inclusive public spaces.

These are 35 cities in 20 countries we visited this year that are leading the way.🧵

A somewhat liberal interpretation, but definitely inspired by your study!

The amount of details of past life preserved in the fossil record never ceases to amaze me. Nor does the creativity and tenacity of paleontologists, working to tease out that information. What a cool study!

it rules to pivot at this point in time from metaverse to ai wearables. it's like if your 8-track tape company finally realized no one was going to want them in the age of the CD, so you changed the business model to only recording nursery rhymes on wax cylinder.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the ‘Metaverse’ has cost Meta more than $77B

The company now plans to cut spending on it and shift focus to AI wearables instead

The minimum wage in Portland Metro is $15.45. That’s a net of about $2600 a month, working 40 hours a week. Of course many low-wage jobs are part-time, which means stringing together several jobs and no overtime.

And that’s more than double the national minimum wage.
Nearly 2k affordable apartment units sit empty in Portland, according to data crunched by the O.

A chief reason: Rising rents have closed the gap between market rate & so-called "affordable" housing, keeping subsidized units out of reach for low-income renters.
Nearly 1,900 affordable Portland apartments sit empty while thousands need homes
“Even affordable rents are too high,” one affordable housing provider told The Oregonian/OregonLive.

This is hilarious. 😅

This Republican is a straight shooter, with Old Tennessee sayings to boot.

Watch as he talks about their attempt to ban Congressional Stock Trading.

He includes: Fonzi quotes. Admiration for swamps (beauty in Mother Nature). TN idioms. And the words "daggommit" & "damgum." 🤣😂

Don’t know how Michael can love a narcissistic sociopath. And that is the “sovereign man”.

One more time: We are social primates. Helpless on our own. So some reasonable form of (democratic) socialism is actually second nature to us.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

The job of a good message isn't to say what is popular. The job of a good message is to make popular what we need said.

MAGA and Madison Avenue have known and exploited this. But it also very much applies to campaigns for good.

Utah has just approved a 1,300-person “mega camp” for homeless individuals,This camp lacks transportation, features locked units, and even imposes forced labor.

They refer to this facility as “work-conditioned housing,” but we simply call it what it is: modern-day internment.
