Don't forget that Dystopian Savings Time (DST) ended this morning, and if you have offline clocks, you should have turned them back an hour already.
Failing this, you'll find yourself at work tomorrow an hour before everyone else, in your own personally saved hour of Dystopia.

I find this to be oddly disquieting
I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.
Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?
But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

A Great Blue Heron focused on fishing. Great Blue Herons have excellent depth perception, which comes in handy while hunting.

I have to do *something* hacker worthy to prepare for VCF MidWest, so I've decided to install SimH and run a VAX/VMS 7.30 on a VAX 11/780 in my cheap ass android phone.

The vilification of "virtue signalling" was a political project designed to make even the most subtle reminders of what decency is uncouth and it fucking worked.

AI is being rapidly driven forward in a financial bubble
Horrible news if you're investing in it, or your job depends on the bubble
Awesome news if you just want to use AI to get shit done, because after the bubble pops, AI compute, and/or the hardware to do it, will be dirt cheap for a while.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

Let’s be clear: Donald Trump isn’t smart. He’s a free rider on national decline, a by-product of decades of inattention to how the republic was eroding. We took the American promise for granted, and now we just might lose it if all of us don’t get off the couch and take a stand.
